On this final Tuesday of the decade, it might be a good time to take a somber look at where we’ve been, where we’re going, and where we are now. However, since this is Tumblr Tuesday and I’m me, I’m going to give you some whimsical predictions for 2010 instead.

In the coming months, I predict that Tumblr will release a feature to post Haikus in addition to chats and quotes. Tumblarity will be worth more than the dollar, and GPOYW will become a national holiday. Tumblr’s iPhone App will start posting automatically.

Also, somebody is going to start putting Lolcats-style text on something else and it’s going to be humongous. Here and now, the Tumblrs:

I thought everyone already knew about this site, but I wound up at a convention last night with a bunch of people who dressed up as animals and they wouldn’t listen to me when I told them they had it backwards.

American Apologies
This Tumblr blog is dedicated to apologizing for all of the embarrassments, failures, and injustices done by the United States. So far it includes hippies and Dan Quayle, so there’s really no chance this will offend anyone.

Yes, it’s totally silly that one year after launching Tumblr, we’re moving the official Tumblr blog off of Wordpress because it was too much work to update.

We want to spotlight all of the neat stuff happening on Tumblr.  So today we’re announcing the official Tumblr tumblelog:  staff.tumblr.com

There’s a lot we want to do here.  In addition to showing off the new features we’re building, we’re dying to brag about everything we see you folks doing. To cover it all, we’re inviting some new members of the Tumblr family to contribute.  Introductions to follow.
